The line of hoody “Svyatkovi” is inspired by the ceremonial gingerbreads of Poltava region – panyankas, which were prepared for Christmas. These are painted cut-out delicacies made from unleavened dough and decorated with pink (beetroot juice was used as a dye) and white icing. The name “panyanka” is due to the fact that these gingerbreads were most often baked in the shape of a girl (a symbol of the family), although there were also shapes of riders, birds, horses, boots, flowers, stars, etc. Traditionally, godparents gave girls gingerbread in the shape of a lady, and boys - in the shape of a horseman.

The hoody pattern reflects a small part of the shapes that Poltava craftsmen used to make traditional holiday gingerbreads: birds, stars, flowers, horses, cockerels. Traditionally, gingerbread cookies were decorated with spiral and wavy lines, which were applied with sweet icing to the still hot, freshly baked dough. We transferred these wavy motifs to the knitted fabric in the form of embroidery to emphasize the connection between our cultural heritage and modern trends in clothing.

Embroidered patterns in the shape of gingerbread cookies are located above the large pocket, as a hint of what it can be filled with for a child. After all, only obedient children who knew many carols and visited more than one home on Christmas Eve received many gingerbread cookies of different shapes.

The hoodie has a straight silhouette, is made of insulated knitwear (on fleece), with a hood and a large pocket on the front.

Women's and men's models are also created for this line.
